Bow to the emperor

The president was recently/still is in china trying to strengthen our relationship. But as I was looking at yahoo news I saw an article showing the president bowing to the Japanese emperor. I didn’t think anything of it for a couple minutes until I realized that his gesture is suggesting that Japan is better than the United States of America. To there was no reason to bow to him a simple handshake would be suitable. I can see why Obama bowed since he was trying to strengthen the relationship between the two counties and showing respect. But he had no right to make the united state seem weaker. When I kept reading I saw that this wasn’t the first time a president had done a gesture to make United State seem weaker, Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon both bowed to different people. I could be completely wrong but there is no reason to make USA weaker. There are other ways to make two countries equal, which to me is just as strong as saying one country is better than the other without the disrespect.

pros and cons of woodview commons.

Currently I am living on campus at wood view commons. I decided to live there for one reason and one reason only I only had to write 1 check a month for all my bills. This apartment complex has several benefits. They have a pool for the residents to use, also a basketball/volleyball court. For a big gathering you have an option of renting out the club house under restrictions. The thing that can’t be beat is parking. I didn’t have to worry about the parking issue at the beginning of the year and have to walk 1 min or 2 to class. All this may sound great for a person’s 1st apartment but to me there are way too many cons to live here next year again.
First off ICC is a Dry campus. Which means Woodview Commons is to, you can over 21 and you still have cannot have alcohol in your apartment. If you get caught with any you can get evicted and heavenly fined. I can semi get why this rule is in effect but they go as far as to say no alcohol related items, which to me is bull crap. What is a shot glass that you might have gotten on vacation going to hurt?
Alcohol isn’t the only thing that you can’t have in your apartment weapons are also not allowed. Of course I completely agree of guns and knives being banned. But they included little stuff. You can’t have a simple small pocket knife in a draw of your bed room, in my case I can’t have my paintball gun in my closet. I get some people would be an idiot and think it is fun to use the weapons unwisely. But because of those type of people, I have to go an hour out of my way to pick up my paintball gun to play every weekend. Not only does that add more money to play and less time to play it.
When I went to move- in day they told everyone that if you get caught with anything your roommates can also get in trouble along with you. To me this is bull crap. I don’t want to get in trouble if my roommate decides to have a pocket knife in his room. There is really no way to prove that you didn’t know they had it, so you might get fined also.
Being a dry campus the resident advisors are required to do checks of the apartment if they suspect a party. My apartment has been reported to have a party and RA’s and cops have shown up at our door. To me this is bull crap both times this has happened there was only 1 guy home and he was on the computer doing absolutely nothing. It makes me wonder if they just chose random apartments to search so they can find reason to make more money. They also go as far as to limit the number of guest you can have in your apartment. This makes you have a feeling that being younger asking you parent if you could have just one more friend over.

writing for school and out of school

I have said it before and I will keep on saying it. I consider myself not to be a very good writer. When it comes to writing I keep it as simple as possible unless it is for school. When I am not writing for school I hardly ever consider punctuation, and could care less if my spelling was wrong. Writing for school if I didn’t have spell checker I would get an F on every paper because you wouldn’t be able to read or understand what I am saying. Out of School I really don’t write anything. The most writing I do is typing in usernames and passwords and I even got that set to auto sign me in. I do update my status on face book 2 or 3 times a week but with only a couple sentences. I really don’t write for college beside in this class because my major requires me to do absolutely no writing. But even though I only have one class that I write for I have never written so much in all of my years of school.

Game systems

As time goes on everything keeps on getting better and better. Newer and more efficient. Well video games systems are the same way. Every couple of years a new system comes out that completely blows away the last one. Somehow my family has owned almost every game system from Atari to Xbox 360. At last count I had not owned 2 systems, a game boy type thing, and the ps3. Now and days you can play any type of game with people across the world or anything else you can imagine. But I found out that you cannot beat the old systems . I do not know why but me and my friends always turn back to any of the systems older then the Nintendo 64. We have rebought several of these system and games because they are fun to play. They might not be the best graphics or the best sound but they are fun to play and keep your attention.

training

Growing up in a small town I feel has limited the amount of writing ability I have. Since in my school there were only a few English teachers the classes were packed and most of the students really didn't want to write or learn including me. The longest paper I had to write for a teacher was about 3 pages and a work cited. This was the normal for our school. in high school we were giving what needs to be done and giving a computer to work at and then a grade. In Jr High things were different we had papers due in every class all due around the same time. The English teachers thought that the body of the paper were the most important and that is all we really went over in detail. Still today I cannot do intros and conclusions. I learned the most about writing in like the 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade. Not surprisingly that when we first learned how to write. I still remember having to do worksheet after worksheet on how to do word paragraphs and what makes good opening lines.

Media Coverage

"The media (plural) love it when someone makes the news easy for them and they can just go on and on and on – in spite of the facts!"by Charlie Leck

To me that saying couldn't be more true. The media tell us whatever they want without getting the facts. because of the lack of facts or because they really don't care about the other side of the story they make people believe things are so much better or worse than they really are. For example I don't think the war is as bad as they say. I haven't seen a lot of article if any at about the success the military has had. But I can find them about body count or bad things that make the war seem that much worse.

Also to me the new always seems to be slow. For example I was looking for anything about the shooting at ICC. I was looking everywhere online newspapers and the 5 mins of news on Sundays, But there was nothing. It took more than 24 hours for someone to write a article about what happened and I was only able to find 1 thing about it besides the news on TV. So to me the media industries needs to be changed in order to get the right information.

Me as a writer

In order for me to write anything there has to certain physical conditions. Since I really do not like writing I won't do it unless everything is perfect. I have to be able to move around. I cannot write while I am hungry or thirsty.

Because I need to be able to move around to think what I am going to write next my keyboard and mouse cords have to untangled and have extra slack. I wouldn't be able stretch because when I sit still for a period of time I begin to dose off and my legs get sore. Because I am always thirsty I always have a drink next to me I don't care what it is but when I start to write it has to be full because if I go refill it I get distracted and forget about the paper.

I like to write the main points of the paper as fast as I can. On my first draft I really don't care about any the detail or spelling or grammar mistakes. after I get done with the main idea I take a couple day break and the night before it is due I go and correct everything and add any of the small detail that I might of missed.

These are the main ways i write papers. There are several more conditions that need to be perfect but my drink needs a refill and i wont remember to publish this if i dont do it now.
