training

Growing up in a small town I feel has limited the amount of writing ability I have. Since in my school there were only a few English teachers the classes were packed and most of the students really didn't want to write or learn including me. The longest paper I had to write for a teacher was about 3 pages and a work cited. This was the normal for our school. in high school we were giving what needs to be done and giving a computer to work at and then a grade. In Jr High things were different we had papers due in every class all due around the same time. The English teachers thought that the body of the paper were the most important and that is all we really went over in detail. Still today I cannot do intros and conclusions. I learned the most about writing in like the 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade. Not surprisingly that when we first learned how to write. I still remember having to do worksheet after worksheet on how to do word paragraphs and what makes good opening lines.

  1. I know where you are coming from going to a small school in a small community. I come from a town of 2,200 people and my graduating class had 72 students, most of which didn't care about writing either. This probably set me back a bit as well in my writing because if other students didn't feel the importance of write, I really couldn't gain any writing strength from my peers. It really helps to be in an environment full of people who are able to make your own writing better. And I remember those worksheets over wordings and what not. I hated them.

  2. Your lead in your autoethnography was one of the best in the class, so you're making progress!!!

Our longest paper will be your Cultural Film Analysis, and we'll walk through it, step by step.
