W2- Case Study- I am not a writer

I am not a writer. To me Writing and myself do not go together all the time. If I were to ever become a writer I would need major improvements. To me the hardest parts of writing a paper for a class are the introduction and the conclusion. After a while I will come up with a good intro but I can spend several days on the conclusion and still not have a good one to use. I am also a very bad speller and if it wasn't for spell check I wouldn't have a single word correct on my paper and most of the time I don't use the word I want just because I don't feel like putting in the extra few moments to find out how to spell it.

If I were to be able to pick the topic and not have to worry about the grade I think I would be able to easily write the paper with ease. Week ones blog to me was very easy everything just flowed out of me and I was done in 10mins. But I cannot write worth a crap when I comes to a certain subject I don't care about like writing a paper about how I write. To me those papers always turn out to be lower quality then the ones where I pick the topic.

  1. I am the same way it is tough for me to get a paper started and figure out what Im going to write. I also love spell check it helps me out so much with like incorrect punctuation and stuff like that. Another thing I agree with is if I am into the topic I love to write about it. I would probably also get an A on all of those papers too. Anyways hopefully this class helps us learn how to enjoy writing more.

  2. I agree, coming up with an interesting introduction coupled with a good hook can be difficult. Generally when I write I have some idea what I want to talk about and this helps with the intro. When you write an introduction type as you talk while listing how you feel and what your points are going to be through out the piece.

I've seen worse. You aren't a terrible writer, you just need practice like everything else. Chin up

  3. Colton,
Your lead and conclusion are SO important and can be very tricky! Fortunately for you, you have an instructor who is going to work with you on these...starting Tuesday!
